अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्।
उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्।।
अर्थात् -
" यह अपना अथवा पराया" -ऐसा विचार क्षुद्र हृदय वाले व्यक्तियों का है। परंतु उदार हृदय वाले व्यक्तियों के लिए " केवल पृथ्वी एक परिवार है"।
Meaning -
"This is mine or others" - this consideration or thought is of narrow minded people. But for noble minded/magnanimous persons "only the Earth is one family ".
